This Might be My Favorite Tiny House of All Tiny Homes in the Small House Movement

This amazing yurt is perfect for nomads on the go: A Modern Yurt Alternative with Teal Panels would be a wonderful way to have a nomadic home. This mini house is an alternative to the traditional yurt, and it might just be my favourite tiny house of all the tiny homes in the small house movement. The best part is, all you will need is just a simple screwdriver and you have a unique tiny house design to live in or stay in short term. The Teal Panels are fabricated by a company called Teal International Corporation. These prefabricated panels are simple and easy to construct and can be built in a very short period of time. Each panel costs about $200, and you can design your own tiny house, so the cost of this yurt depends on how large you want to build your tiny house design. The nice thing about these panel houses is that there is always the option to build onto your tiny house if need be in the future by adding more panels. This might be my favourite tiny house of all tiny homes because of the affordability and the flexibility these panels offer. Its like modular housing and tenting united. These tiny house yurt style structures are also able to be taken camping. They can be disassembled and carried to the camping location to be assembled in about an hour or so. You can add in a nice thick air mattress and some comfortable linens and you will feel right at home. This type of unit could also be great for temporary housing while building another house, you may not want to stay in it in colder weather though, but it should be fine for temperate climates.

The tiny house movement is sweeping our nation and it is a perfect solution for people who are tired of renting, but don't have the funds or don't want to go into debt over owning a larger home. In the United States of America, the average square footage of a new single-family home rose drastically from 1,780 square feet in 1978 to a whopping 2,479 square feet in the year of 2007. In 2013 the average house size was 2,662 even though the size of the families living in these large homes dropped. So we have people living in houses that take up all of their money and time earning the money to pay for the house which doesn't lead to a very fulfilled lifestyle. Renting is more expensive than ever as well, and there isn't a lot of rental availability in cities at this time either. The tiny house designs are usually less than 1000 square feet in total. A small stationary house built on a regular foundation can be up to 1,000 square feet, and have any dimensions it wants to, and tiny house designs that are on wheels are usually less than 400 square feet, with some houses as small as 80 to 60 square feet. This is because tiny houses on wheels must be able to be highway legal fitting into the measurements of no more than 30 feet long, by 8 feet wide and 13.5 feet tall. This way you can pull your tiny house down the highway and move it easily without having to get any pilots or professional drivers. Although, many people do hire professional drivers the larger their tiny house is.

If you are considering living in a tiny house, maybe consider staying in one for a little while first, or maybe even purchasing one of these modern yurt alternatives and building a tiny home out of prefabricated panels. Enjoy looking through the amazing tiny houses on Tiny House Talk and see which ones are your favourite tiny houses in the tiny house movement.***
